Sporting Clay Target Shooting - Clay Bird Shooting
Originating from England, Sporting Clays (previously known as "Clay Bird Shooting") provides simulated hunting conditions and gives a different setting and variety of target presentations. This keeps the sport not only interesting but extremely challenging. This is ideal practice for the real thing.
Sporting Clay Target Shooting is one of the safest and fastest growing gun sports in the world. A safe shotgun sport which enhances gun handling skills improves shooting confidence and challenges the mind.
Under the instruction and supervision of New Zealand Champion and World Title Holder, Dale Clark, relax and enjoy Carodale’s course as you move from station to station where you are presented with up to 100 different clay targets. We vary the trap positions, speed, shooting position, size and height of the target to replicate normal hunting conditions.
Under command, clay birds fly towards you, away from you, going left and right, both high and low. Just as they do in the wild. Our fully-automated traps are strategically hidden in the bush and are controlled remotely by your instructor to ensure continuous and consistent fun and entertainment. Our targets imitate quarry such as duck, pheasant, partridge, pigeon, quail, rabbit and hare at distances from 10 to 60 meters.
Our course is designed to entice beginners and challenge the experienced.
